SHY Martin is back with a brand new single called ‘Out Of My Hands’.

Produced by Freddy Alexander, ‘Out Of My Hands’ is a delicious slice of mid-tempo pop which showcases SHY’s breathy vocals as she tries to move on from a toxic relationship. Armed with poignant lyricism, the track will resonate with anyone who’s ever experienced an unhealthy relationship.

Speaking about the track, SHY stated in a press release: “I wrote ‘Out Of My Hands’ last summer together with three of my favourite songwriters: Freddy Alexander, SHY Nodi and Madison Love. The song is about leaving behind a destructive relationship that you’ve become addicted to.

“When you’ve been in a relationship for a long time it’s easier and less painful to stay in it, rather than leave it behind, as it’s so hard at the time to know who you are without the other person. I think that’s the reason why people tend to romanticise destructive relationships, and why it’s so easy to fall right back into them.”

‘Out Of My Hands’ is SHY’s first single of 2019 and follows on from her 2018 debut EP Overthinking. She is currently in the middle of an European tour, which allows her to showcase some of her new material.

She later went on to release a string of her own solo releases, including ‘Forget To Forget’, ‘Good Together’, and ‘Just A Little Longer’.

In addition to a successful career as a solo artist, SHY is a renowned songwriter in the industry, with credits including Kygo and Ellie Goulding’s ‘First Time’, The Chainsmokers’ ‘All We Know’, Bebe Rexha’s ‘(Not) The One’, and NOTD and Bea Miller’s ‘I Wanna Know’.

SHY is also a keen philanthropist, especially when it comes to issues in the music industry. She is a proud member of Spotify CEO/Founder Daniel Ek and hitmaker Max Martin’s Equalizer Project, which aims to combat gender inequality in the music industry.
