After weeks of hiding the evidence, Katy Perry has revealed that she and her fiance Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child together. The 35-year-old broke the news via her new music video for Never Worn White, where she cradled her stomach to show off her baby bump while wearing an Alexis Mabille wedding dress.
The pop star revealed on social media that she had to reveal her pregnancy at some point because it was “getting pretty obvious.”

“It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music,” Perry said on Instagram Live after the video’s premiere. She added on Twitter that she was “so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore” or “carry around a big purse.”
According to Page Six, Perry’s fashion choices during her public appearances in recent weeks was the singer’s secret weapon in keeping her pregnancy on the down low. On February 3rd, Perry was in London for a theater outing and she wore a pink satin tiered cape dress from Lela Rose that swung around the singer instead of being form-fitting.
The next day, at the British Asian Trust gala dinner, Perry opted for a navy blue gown from Stella McCartney. The Dark Horse singer accessorized with a silver clutch that she strategically held in front of her belly throughout the night.
A week later, Perry disguised her bump by wearing a boxy, oversized pink animal-print suit from Dundas for her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

When cameras caught Perry out for a night in Los Angeles a couple of days later, she carried a Mark Cross tote bag in front of her midsection while wearing a pink lace dress with a faux fur draped around her shoulders.
Known for her colorful, outrageous style, there is no doubt that Katy Perry will show off some fun maternity style during the live episodes of American Idol in the coming weeks before she welcomes her first child this summer.
